Giving Challenge Kick-Off:

Lecture: The Nature of Southwest Florida: Cultural Beginnings and Natural Endings

Tuesday, May 1st, 3:00 – 4:00 PM

What do we know about Florida’s first people? The Mississippian peoples traditions hint at the beginning of Florida's fishing culture. Here in the 21st century we are still learning from the past. Discover the secrets of the ancients with Karen Willey of Around the Bend Nature Tours as she discusses the interaction between indigenous people's and their native landscapes.. Karen is co-founder of the Trail of Florida’s Indian Heritage, a state-wide network of public archaeology sites.

(The 2018 Giving Challenge is 24 hours of giving on May 1 and 2nd from noon to noon. Let your support for FMM go further with a 1:1 match for unique donors up to $100.)
