Cast Net Making Demonstration and Cast Net Throwing Class

Join Jim Hattaway, one of the few net makers left in the region, for a cast net making demonstration. In this hands on demonstration Jim will discuss how to make the nets – while making one! After, join Nathan Meschelle, a local Cortez fisherman, to learn how to properly hold, load and deploy a net.

Cast Net Making Demonstration 9:00am: Join Jim Hattaway, one of the few net makers left in the region, for a cast net making demonstration. In this hands on demonstration Dennis will discuss how to make the nets – while making one!
Cast Net Throwing Class 10:00am – 11:30am: Join Nathan Meschelle, a local Cortez fisherman, to learn how to properly hold, load, deploy, and retrieve a cast net.
Students must be 12 years of age or older
Minors must be accompanied by an adult
Class will be outside, please dress appropriately
