Volunteering at the Florida Maritime Museum, you never know who you’ll end up talking to or what stories you’ll hear. Each day is an opportunity to interact with visitors from all over the world, becoming more involved in the local, Cortez community. Together we work towards the continued preservation and expansion of the area’s history, as well as the promotion of the community as a whole.
At FMM we strive to cultivate a close knit community of staff and volunteers. To this end we host an annual volunteer appreciation social! This party is our way of saying thanks, and is a good opportunity for everyone to get acquainted. As an added benefit, volunteers with a proven and continued commitment to FMM have the ability to check books out from our maritime library without becoming a member after completing 25 volunteer hours.
Perhaps most of all, Volunteering at FMM is an opportunity to explore and expand your interests through a number of unique volunteer positions. Help us find the one that’s right for you.
If there’s another way you would like to contribute to the museum, or any particular skills you have to offer, let us know! We want to make sure you find your niche at FMM and a position that you enjoy.
