National, juried, open entry tapestry exhibit in honor of master weaver, Robert Sailors, who lived in the 1912 School House building that now houses the Museum.

Maya Textile Traditions From Across the Millennia

This illustrated lecture provides a visual tour of the mythologies and rituals important to Maya cultures and highlights the connections between the prehispanic past and weavers of today. Admission is free and seating is first come serve, beginning at 2:30. FMM members are able to reserve seats by calling (941) 708-6120.

In conjunction with the “Stories of the Sea” tapestry exhibit, FMM presents an opportunity to explore some of the many facets of fiber craft. Weaving and spinning demos, interactive activities, and more. All ages welcome. Admission is free.
